An In Depth Look at

The Race To A Million

“When it came to music in the 1990’s, everyone looking for the next big act would look to Seattle Washington. The success of grunge bands like Nirvana helped to make Seattle a“top of mind” city for music.

We want to accomplish the same “top of mind” image with our high tech and business sectors in the city of Kamloops.

When companies are looking for a forward thinking, innovative and welcoming business climate, we want them to think of Kamloops. The Race to a Million will allow us to show off the extremely talented and creative people and solid infrastructure we have in the city of Kamloops. Ultimately, we want to do the same for communities right across the province and the country. Race to a Million in Kamloops is just the first step”

The beginning:

The race to a Million is the brainchild of Peter Cameron-Inglis and Dean Pierson, co-founders of Canada’s Mastermind Development Corporation (CMDC). The mission of CMDC is to facilitate and accelerate the success of individuals and businesses by introducing them to the Mastermind concept. The Mastermind concept has been responsible for some
remarkable local (Kamloops BC) success and CMDC is working on a business model that will allow them to duplicate their success with other sectors and communities throughout the province and right across Canada.

While developing their business pan, Peter and Dean identified a need to quantify the growth accomplished by Masterminding. The Race to a Million was born out of a need to measure success!

The Race to a Million will not only act as proof of concept for Mastermind, it will also be a fun, interactive and profitable venture for participants, charities, the business community as a whole and of course our great advertising partners.

The Race to a Million is a first of it’s kind and will be a vehicle towards a win-win situation for all involved while acting as a ground breaking form of on line entertainment and information.

Nice People Can Finish First!

“We strongly believe that people can act in a socially and environmentally responsible way and still be creative and successful. While other reality shows thrive on conflict and disputes, the Race to a Million is specifically designed to promote friendly competition while allowing for positive results for all involved.

As our promotional T-Shirts say……Nice People Can Finish First.”

The Code of Conduct:

Mastermind groups are governed by our 4 cornerstone principles. These principles will also be our guide for the Race to a Million.

  1. Truth, transparency, honesty, respect and confidentiality is expected at all times to and from each member of the group in all we say and do.
  2. Every decision made by the group will be based on the understanding that the decision must be sustainable and support the good will of the group, society as a whole and the planet. No decision shall be endorsed which contravenes basic human sensibility or will have a negative impact on any individual (excluding competitors), our partners or the planet.
  3. Each member will put the needs of others in the group ahead of their own. It is understood that all members are deemed equal with no extraordinary standing given to any individual.
  4. Each member will fulfill any and all commitments once made.

Making a significant impact on

local and national charities.

THE BREAKDOWN:

Each team has chosen a charity to essentially include as another member of their group. As such, every charity will also share in the prize monies that will be awarded at the end of season one.

HERE’S HOW THAT LOOKS:

The first team to accumulate one million dollars or who has the highest earnings total as of July 1st, 2011 will be declared the winner and receive 70% of their total to share equally among their members and their charity of choice.

For example: Team Matrix has 6 members in their Mastermind group and their charity of choice (7 total positions). If they were to hit the $1,000,000 they would split $700,000 equally with members and their charity. Each member of the team and their charity would receive $100,000. To make it even better, CMDC will match all team’s charitable donations for all groups. Using the previous scenario, the Team Matrix charity would receive a check for $200,000 at the conclusion of season one.

TOTAL CONTEST BREAKDOWN:

  • 1st place team: 70% of total monies earned
  • 2nd place team:60% of total monies earned
  • 3rd place team: 50% of total monies earned
  • 4th place team: 40% of total monies earned
  • 5th place team: 30% of total monies earned

Canada’s Mastermind Development Corporation will match every team’s charitable contribution dollar for dollar.

“We want to re-energize Canadian innovation while at the same time, giving participants of the contest and fans of the show permission to be successful” – Peter Cameron-Inglis

Canada has always had a rich tradition of creative thinking and world changing ideas. From the telephone to the Avro Aero and countless other examples, Canadian ingenuity has proven time and again to be a powerful force for positive change and growth. The Race to a Million will be a platform from which all involved (Canadian and otherwise) can take some time to evaluate their own creative thinking and perhaps breathe life into previously abandoned ideas while sparking new inspirations.

The Race to a Million will give some great incentives for everyone (contestants and fans alike) to get fully engaged in the contest interacting with teams and contributing ideas. Fans of the show can win great prizes and trips by sharing new ideas and money making strategies. The Race to a Million will be the first “social reality” show which could
literally get the whole world involved.

When fans share creative and profitable ideas with the teams, they can be awarded unique Race to a Million prizes which include customized RTAM shirts along with recognition for themselves and their businesses on our blog and other promotional outlets like You Tube, Twitter and Facebook.

Besides the apparel “swag” and the recognition, our fans can also win one of two, all expenses paid trips for two from anywhere in the world to beautiful Kamloops, British Columbia by taking part in “The Biggest Fan Contest”.

The model of the Race to a Million will essentially crowd source money making ideas from around the world!

“People are really going to think. They’re really going to become creative.
Curiosity and an open mind, when you have those two things,
absolutely incredible things happen.”

Executive Director, ISIC (Interior Science and Innovation Council)- Bill McQuarrie

Do you really think they can turn

$500 into $1,000,000?

The answer is… we don’t know.

The Race to a Million is a bold experiment in social reality which will test the limits of ingenuity and creativity.

Therein lies the most compelling aspect of Race to a Million. People will be curious to see if it can be done. People will be looking to get new ideas and investments which could help them accelerate personal profitability. People will want to get involved and contribute to success!
