Make-A-Wish British Columbia & Yukon is the first Canadian chapter of this wonderful organization, celebrating 27 years of granting magical wishes for children aged 3 to 17 who have a life threatening medical condition. With a special focus on the entire family, Make-A-Wish enriches lives while providing Hope, Strength, and Joy.

Team Genie chose the Make-A-Wish Foundation because we were all kids once, kids with dreams and goals and wishes. We believe that life is made up of precious moments and we want help this great organization work their magic for children in need.

To network and have access to a team of people with over 500 years of business knowledge.

Do you think your team can turn $500 into $1,000,000 by July 1st 2011?
Yes, because we have set it as a goal. I believe that if you think it and believe it it will happen. And we have a head start. We already have formed a mastermind team.

What gives your group an advantage over others?
I don’t think we do have an advantage as I don’t know the other teams. All I can say is that this is a totally capable team and can get the job done.

What is most exciting about being a part of the first ever Race to a Million?
The ride.  The adventure. The experience. What I will learn from it all.

We will turn $500 into a million but not the way you might think….you’ll just have to see it to believe it!

What gives your group an advantage over others?
We have something that no other group possibly could have. And we will use this to our advantage to obtain the best results possible

What is most exciting about being a part of the first ever Race to a Million?
The most exciting part is that I have no idea what the most exciting part will be. We just have to wait and watch and see what happens. All I know is that there will be some very exciting developments. And there will be a lot of fun.

I think for sure we can do this but it is going to take some high risk moves!!

What gives your group an advantage over others?
Our team has developed a safe environment to express ideas openly and is made up of a group of diverse and creative people.  These qualities will determine our success.

About Mickael
Mickael describes himself as inventive, industrious, persevering, unexpected, and level-headed.  He’s married with 3 children and enjoys being a Singer/Songwriter, Guitars/Drums/Bass and Music recording, computers, technology, the casual pursuit of scientific knowledge, philosophy and truth. Mickael’s long range business goals include continuing to provide quality hosting and development services to clients who understand the value of their website presence, and to continue to grow and extend the features of the SilverServers Control Panel. His long range music goals include writing and releasing new music and continuing to perform and expand his music skills.

A little of what Mickael has to say:
I have been involved in website hosting and development since I started my first official business back in 1997. At around the same time I began working with a company called “Adgrafix” out of Sudbury MA and by 2001 I had moved to the US to accept the position as Vice President of Operations. The company was later sold and my wife and I moved back to Kamloops, where I later founded SilverServers Inc. In addition to being a business owner and operator, in 2005 I added Singer/Songwriter and multiinstrumentalist to my biography when songs I recorded (as a project to share with friends and family) got picked up by a number of radio stations. Since then I have also been pursuing music as a sideline to my primary profession. Why did you choose to join a Mastermind group?
When the program was announced, I was keen to participate in Mastermind groups for a number of reasons: To participate in the mutual growth and betterment of technology based businesses in Kamloops; To get to know more local business owners and learn from their successes and failures; To find a suitable business partner or partners to help grow my existing and future businesses.

What advantages does being a part of a Mastermind group offer?
Mastermind provides access to an amazing feedback loop that is a valuable asset to the growth and success of everyone involved.

Do you think your team can turn $500 into $1,000,000 by July 1st 2011?
One of my underlying values has always been to try and build long-term business relationships with my clients by offering the best service and support I’m able to provide. I think a person’s integrity and values are very important. This sentiment has been expressed throughout the team. I certainly think our team has the skills, resources and expertise to win this contest. Our biggest challenge will be finding ways to grow our kitty while sticking to our core values.

What gives your group an advantage over others?
Chrysalis has a diverse team with a wide range of experience, resources and expertise. It is clear that each member of the team has a lot of respect for each other. This mutual respect will give us an advantage of being able to quickly sort through our ideas and opinions to gain consensus on our course of action.

What is most exciting about being a part of the first ever Race to a Million?
There are many people that sit on their potential, even give up their dreams, because they have that well paying job that gives them the feeling of security. Being an entrepreneur is not easy; it is a road filled with great risks. In my experience overcoming those risks can be incredibly rewarding. I am excited to be part of a contest that can show others the challenges and benefits that working on your own dreams can bring. Allowing anyone to join in or play along with us might just give some more people an opportunity to take that risk and make their living on their own terms. I am very interested to see the successes and failures of our team and those who come along for the ride.

Born in Quesnel, this clothing graphic designer calls herself outgoing, driven, positive, encouraging and caring! Caring is exactly what Karri-Ann is, and it’s that  characteristic that make her such a wonderful person. She is 26, married and enjoys designing, wake surfing/boarding, traveling and snowboarding. Karri-Ann is a truly driven and positive individual.

Why did you choose to join a Mastermind Group?
I decided to join the mastermind group because it just makes sense… to have a group of people who will provide positive support and constructive criticism on my ideas would be hugely beneficial to my self as a business owner.

What advantages does being a part of a Mastermind group offer?
For me the advantages would be personal as well as Entrepreneurial growth for my business. I have a dream in mind and I can’t wait to see how Masterminds can help me accomplish it.

Do you think your team can turn $500 into $1,000,000 by July 1st 2011?
I am a very optomistic person, so I  believe our team can accomplish anything we put our minds to, especially if we are all putting in the same level of commitment and we are all on the same page. The only way that we might not succeed is if we start having kinks in the chain of our success

What gives your group an advantage over others?
I am new to the group so I haven’t gotten a true feel for the Genie team but the time I have spent with them was very positive and encouraging. I think with everyones support, commitment, and range in professional experience and advantage will be endless.

What is most exciting about being a part of the first ever Race to a Million? What are you most looking forward to?
I am looking forward to the challenges and to see what some random people in a group can accomplish with $500!
